Frequently Asked Questions
- What statuses can a member have?
- »
There are six tiers of status that users may have. All users start out as a "Member" on Minitokyo, and most remain as such throughout their time on Minitokyo. The other statuses are as follows:
- Administrator
- The Big Cheese.
- Moderator
- Most moderators specialize in one or more areas (Gallery Moderator, Forum Moderator, or Review Moderator), these members are responsible for ensuring that the rules and guidelines are adhered to. Moderators can change the status of other members.
- Retired Moderator
- These are users who have previously served the Minitokyo community as Moderators, but are no longer moderating or part of the Minitokyo staff. They cannot access reports or change the status of other members, but can move incorrectly categorized items.
- Elite Member
- These are users who have devoted significant time and effort to assisting the moderators in running the community. Can move submissions that were incorrectly categorized.
- Member
- These are users who are able to participate in the community.
- Mute/Restricted Member
- These are members who have broken the rules and who therefore cannot access certain features of the site.
- Banned Member
- These members have demonstrated a repeated disregard for the established rules and guidelines and have been banished from the community.
- What do I do if I've been banned?
- » If you've been banned, all you can do is wish that you had been a good, rule-abiding member of the community, because members who have been banned are not meant to return to Minitokyo.
- What are warnings?
- »
Moderators issue warnings to members who have broken the rules in some way, shape, or form. Three warnings are sufficient grounds for banishment from the community. If you receive a warning, you should probably go through the Policy to make sure you know what not to do in order to avoid getting more warnings in the future. In general, warnings are given for either a single major offense or a series of possibly inadvertent minor infractions.
Moderators will not issue more than one warning to any particular user in a given 24-hour period. - What are restricted and muted members?
- » Restricted members cannot download or upload items from the gallery. Muted members also cannot post anything else.
- What are elite members? How do I become one?
- » These are users who have devoted significant time and effort to assisting the moderators in running the community. The staff chooses who are eligible for elite membership.
